What I consider chaos!!!

The sentimental side of me wasn't around when more boxes lay in wait to be unpacked. So I didn't capture any pictures on my camera. My dad might have some I will have to steal. The OCD side of me took over and started putting things in their place almost immediately. Since I wasn't allowed to lift anything I had to do something to keep myself for going insane ;)

At my insistance Aaron and Dad set up the dining table (Oh My God! I HAVE A DINING ROOM!) on Friday. I do have a toddler to feed. They thought the table looked nice on that side of the room. I agree, but the light fixture is a safety hazard. Aaron will be moving it as soon as he has a moment.

Ready To Go

Daniel was ready to go on Friday morning. He didn't quite know what he was in for, but he's always up for an adventure.

Aaron managed to get a few important things to the house the night before when we gained possession of the key. You know, like the computers and TV.

It's On

The REAL countdown is officially on. By this time next week I will be waking up in a new house, hopefully with enough energy to start unpacking and organizing.

Things are getting quite hectic around here. With all the repair/freshening up of this house, the packing, and the toddler chasing I am quite exhausted by the end of the day. That doesn't mean I can sleep through the night ;) This pregnant body won't let that happen.

I am grateful that we are able to keep packed boxes at my mother-in-laws and at Aaron's work (which is only ten minutes from the new house). And I am grateful we have our small moving crew lined up or else I wouldn't be getting any sleep at all.

I must go begin my day. I hear a really cute little man calling for me. And a few more things to go into boxes that I never seem to have enough of. That is boxes that I don't have enough of. Not stuff. I've got plenty of that!!!

Yipee! The end is near!

24 Weeks

At this point I go from feeling big to having dreams that I am not showing at all. Grateful to wake up to visit the bathroom and feel this little kickboxer moving around.

My doctor visit last week went well. It was uneventful which is what we look forward too. She says the baby is growing well. And I am gaining weight the way she wants me too...ie not too much too fast! I credit the first child with this. I am running around with him instead of sitting on the computer munching away on peanut butter and banana sandwiches. Mmmmm that sounds good right now.

I told her about falling. Her response was that as long as I fell on my butt the baby should be fine. If anything bad was going to happen it would have happened in the first six hours. She also reminded me not to lift anything during the move. I told her that I am pretty bossy so I will just have to use that skill. She laughed "confessions good for the soul."

With only about 10 days until the move I am suffer a bit of insomnia. I wake to pee and then can't get back to sleep because my brain will not shut off. Usually it is just excited thoughts about moving. Sometimes it start thinking of all the things that still have to get done. I just want to be at the new house now so I can start nesting. Oh My God! The baby will be here in about 16 weeks let's hurry this up now!!

Okay, I promise myself I will try to remain calm and just know that things will happen as they should. Shut the brain off at 4am. If only I could get all these kids songs out of my head!!!

Cliche

We went to Walmart today and I found this jar of pickles for a really good price. I had to laugh at myself. Six months pregnant and buying a giant jar of pickles. This jar is bigger than the baby I carry :)

The Visit

We went to visit the new house today. We were happy to note that they had packing boxes all over the place. Aaron was worried they hadn't started packing. Every week when he goes to Ajax he drives past the house. One day they had the garage open and he noticed there were no boxes piled inside. He was a bit concerned. Crazy guy!

Daniel seemed right at home running from bedroom to bedroom. He loves the sliding closet doors. I just love that the closets are huge!

On the way down to the basement I slipped on the stairs. Mom in law and our real estate lady were very concerned but other than my back hurting and a scraped elbow I am fine. I landed on my butt/hip. I think the little guy enjoyed the ride. He started thumping around shortly after. (For all concerned : fetal movement is a great sign that everything is alright!) I will mention this to my OB/GYN on Tuesday when we visit just to double check. I blame the socks I was wearing. I've slid while wearing them before. I promptly threw them in the trash the minute we got home!

On this visit, my third to the house, the rooms looked even bigger than I remember. The more I see it the more I love it. I can't wait to show my parents. We are entitled to one more visit but at this point I think it would just be a tease. We are thisclosetomoveinday. I think I can wait the 19 days.

23 Weeks

Last Monday we took Daniel in for his vaccine. We were a few months late on it but better late than never. Up until that day we had a wonderful, happy good sleeping, hearty eating little boy. Now we have a miserable, crying, refusing food, saying NO to everything little pod person. From my understanding any side effects of the vaccine are only supposed to last 24 hours tops. He had a fever which broke at around the 24 hour mark.

We thought that it was over. Except all week he has been miserable. Even while visiting his Grandma Gogo. Even while Papa (Ya, we settled on Papa because that is what came out of Danny's mouth while greeting his Grandpa) was working at our house most of the week. He wakes up crying at all hours. I'm running out of ideas and patience. I need sleep too kid!

My dad did point out that he might be teething again. Those darned molars! I know it must be painful. We are all quite frustrated. The little guy seems to want to communicate words he doesn't yet know. And mommy and daddy just want to know how to make it all better so we can have our happy little monkey back.

I was also thinking that he might be feeling a bit of the upheaval of the coming move (about 19 days to go now!!!). Though we are not particularly stressed I guess he might be picking up on it. I haven't really started on packing any of his stuff yet - though I'd really love to tackle it. I think that might have to be a last minute room just to ease him into it.

We will be visiting our new house this weekend (the weekend we were originally suppose to move). I am looking forward to that. Hopefully Dan will be in a good mood for it!

At 23 weeks pregnant I am still small enough to get things done yet big enough to show the world that I am waddling for a good reason. And to wear my maternity jeans :) I feel the little guy kicking a lot more than I remember Daniel kicking. But that could just be me not remembering so well. I go to the doctor on Tuesday for my check-up. Boring routine stuff I guess! Better boring though in this case.

21...22 weeks I swear I grew overnight!

The other morning after getting dressed for work I realized how big I was all of a sudden. I swear it happened overnight. Must be all the exercize he's been getting - while I try to sleep. Which is hard to do with this little creature twisting and twirling and kicking and punching in my belly. Ya, I'm tired but loving it!

Here I was last week.

And just a minute ago (I am wearing the same pants. Notice they are a little more snug this week. I might not be able to wear them next week.):

My customers are starting to notice more now too. They are a lot more comfortable asking me questions about the pregnancy. I told one customer that we are expecting another boy and we both agreed that things should be easier with boys once they hit the teen years than a girl would have been. (She has a very sweet teenage son of her own.) Let us hope so ;)

And let's not forget our dose of Dan! Put a camera in front of this guy and he can't help but ham it up.

21 Weeks - Was and Is

21 Weeks already! Only this last week seemed to go at a snails pace. Which is weird because I had a lot going on. Work schedule was all over the place. Prepping this house still. Playing with a demanding little toddler who insists on watching Snow White at least once a day. And of course packing and preparing for the big move (33 days to go)!!!

And though I am still facinated with every kick. And I know he is a lot easier to take care of in utero. I still can't wait for the little guy to arrive. Pregnancy has now become a "been there, done that" sort of thing for me. And as long as everything keeps running along smoothly I should shut up and stop complaining ;)

The last time I went to the doctor we further discussed VBAC (vaginal birth after ceasarean) for me. The doctor had obtained my hospital records and I got to find out the whole story of Daniel's c-section arrival. Not only was I not fully dilated but Daniel was facing up (the wrong way). So once he became distressed c-section seemed the safest bet. These facts better my chances for a VBAC. As long as baby doesn't get any bigger than Danny was (8lb 1oz) then I can try for vaginal birth. If not, then a c-section may be scheduled a week before my due date. And though I would love to avoid surgery, an early and planned delivery sounds wonderful.

Wow! I just realized I had gone off topic to my original post theme "Was and Is".

We had thought for no apparent reason at all that this baby was a girl. Heck, we had a name picked out before conception and everything. I had been saving baby girl clothes since high school and even had some hand me downs from my sister in law. If she was a girl her name would have been Sara Jane. Sara was Aaron's great grandmother's name. And I thought Jane sounded pretty with Sara. I later found out Jane is also my aunt's middle name - bonus! A girl was meant to be - NOT!

And so what is...Another amazing and sure to be super cute boy! Early on I had been coming up with boy names that I liked. Aaron was so sure it was a girl I don't think he even bothered to try to agree on any boy names. However, driving home from the ultrasound clinic we started to discuss. And out popped John Jason from my mouth. Right away Aaron agreed. "That sounds good!" John is after my long time hero John Lennon. It's also a classic masculine name (for me it has the same vibe as Daniel - friendly yet manly!). And Jason is for my big brother.

And so when I'm not calling this wild and crazy baby "Thumper" he is get used to hearing John!

Water Baby

Daniel's first time putting his feet in the lake. He cried as we dragged him away from the beach.

He really enjoys the seesaw. (That's me and my bump at 20 weeks).

Thumper

Boy! (Tee Hee) This little guy sure likes to kick. I do not remember Daniel beating me as much as this little guy. I have taken to calling him Thumper.

It was kind of weird finding out the sex. I thought I might be disappointed if it was a boy. We were so sure he was a girl. When the tech told us "It's a boy!" I laughed and said "wow, we thought it was a girl." He replied, "Sorry I can't change that for you." I told him that we're happy just surprised. As long as we are healthy. And it's true. Just knowing the sex made the baby more real. And that has made me more excited about this little guy.

When I got home from the ultrasound I sorted all the baby clothes and ended up giving the pink stuff to the neighbour. For all you curious about the plans for our family, we decided long ago that no matter what the sexes two children would be plenty.

Is it possible to have too much sweetness? Just one more please :D

This is my belly at 19 weeks (yes, I am one week behind on the pics. My belly isn't that big yet.)

It's a Boy

Well, all of our predictions were wrong. No pink frills in my future.

I did have a dream this morning that we were late for our appointment and in our rush a pregnant friend of mine was giving birth in the back seat of our car. She ended up having twin boys. Which were the size Daniel is now and running around. Toddler sized newborns. What strange dreams pregnancy brings. Perhaps my dream was telling me that I'm carrying a boy.

And a hyper boy at that. I have been feeling him move around for quite a few weeks now. He also thumped when my ob/gyn was checking out his heart rate. And he kept moving around when the ultrasound tech was trying to get a look at him. And he just kick me right now.

Here are some of his modeling shots from today:

I did tell Aaron and my mom that if we had another boy one of them would be wearing girly stuff!!

I just keep counting down (18 weeks)

With so much to look forward to this year I am trying to countdown to the next closest thing to keep myself from exploding. Right now it is my next ultrasound. I found a countdown app for my igoogle page and currently have 8 days, 3 hours and 14 minutes until I get a second peek at this little gymnast. I can't wait. However I am a bit anxious that they won't tell me the sex of the baby. Hopefully we can arrange things so that Aaron can be there with me and if the tech gives us problems he can muscle it out of them ;)

This little one seems to be kicking more often than Daniel did. I have a feeling she's going to be like me (My mom told me that I kicked like crazy!). Which means we are in for it - LOL.

I still look about the same as I did last week. I was comparing my belly photos from last pregnancy and I seem to be carrying the same as then. Maybe a little more obvious this time but still quite compact! 17 Weeks last pregnancy

It has been so warm and humid here that I haven't even bothered to wear my maternity pants. I've just been in drawstring shorts. And though I love the warm weather part of me craves a costume change!

Could he be any cuter?

The other day I took Daniel to the play center. I think its good for him to get to be around other kids. Usually what happens is that Daniel or the other child will push and that will be the end of the interaction. Which is what happened with most of the kids and Daniel that day.

One older girl thought that because he is a "baby" that she would take it upon herself to play with him like a doll. Little D wasn't putting up with her. He pushed her. Her response was to stand really close to him which made him push her again. This scene continued a couple of times with this older girl telling him not to push. I was ready to push her myself but I held myself back. This is real life and Dan will have to get used to it.

On to the cute part.

There was another little boy at the play center around Daniel's age. Amazingly, for their age group they actually clicked. They went into the play house together. The little boy, Brenden, smacked the wall. Danny smacked the wall. They both giggled and ran out. Each little boy got into a toy car. Brenden would bump his car into Daniel's and again they would both start to giggle. This is the closest I have seen Daniel actually playing with another child. According to the articles I've read kids his age don't really play together. I thought these two were great together. Perhaps old friends from a life before this one?! Hopefully they will meet again!

Finally...

a picture of me at 17 weeks. Slowly rounding out. Meaning I'm having a heck of a time getting comfy at bedtime.

And Daniel is packed and ready to go to the new house. When I brought home the bins from Walmart on Friday he played with them for about three hours. First he would climb in and out closing and opening the lid. And then the game turned into putting all of our shoes in and taking them all out. Repeat until bedtime. Wow if I knew they would keep him so occupied I would have bought him bins for his birthday :)

17 Weeks

I haven't got a picture yet today. I just woke up and taking a picture of me at his moment could be a scary prospect.

I am feeling kicks daily now. And I'm loving it. I am still tired which I had hoped would subside a bit in the second trimester but I guess with the humidity, a toddler and house prepping chores its to be expected. That doesn't stop me from having insomnia on some nights. Like the night before last. Stupid thoughts coursing through my brain preventing me from falling back to sleep. That left me pretty moody yesterday but luckily I was with my mom who's presence works better than any antidepressant I've ever heard of.

And though I am disappointed about the delay in our move I am looking at the positives. We will have a little more time to pack and prepare. And maybe it will be a little cooler so all my slaves movers will be more comfortable.

Today has been designated as "my day". Aaron and I take a day on alternating weeks as our own. On his days I usually take Danny to visit Grandma Gogo and Baba in Richmond Hill so he can do his thing at home (play video games). On my days I go to RH to hang out with my mom. Usually thrift store shopping, yapping and the sort.

Today is a Walmart day. I'm planning on buying some storage bins to help organize some of our things for the move (and after). I will actually have some room for storage in our own home at the new house. What a thrill!! :)

And now for your dose of cuteness, presenting the most adorable boy on the planet : Daniel!

Wow! Just think in about 23 more weeks I will have cuteness times two!

A bit of disappointment

There has been a delay in our move. I am a bit disappointed, but what's a girl to do. We are now moving on September 9th instead of August 19. My main concern is that my belly will be bigger and I'm not sure how much I will actually be able to do myself. I'm of the belief that if you want something done right you gotta do it yourself. Guess I'll just have to practice my bossing skills.

On another note, Daniel has been removing his diaper at night and then calls us into his room to change him. This usually happens after peeing his bed. It has been so warm lately that we really don't want to put him in too many clothes (we had been putting him in onsie pjs backwards to deter him from removing them). This evening he did it again and this time peed on his favourite blanket. So now he is in bed crying as his blankie is being washed. I had hoped he would get over it but it doesn't sound like it. Let's just hope the spin cycle hurries on up. Mommy feels like crying too.

16 Weeks

It's been hard for me to keep you all up to date on the old blog. With a toddler running around, prepping the house for sale and packing for the big move and being pregnant I'm usually exhausted when I do find a moment to rest. So I am taking my time today (I've already cleaned for one of my clients this morning and Danny is napping. Oh! AND my lovely hubby is making me some food!!).

Finally, a prego picture of me from this pregnancy. I was obsessed with the first. Taking a picture every week from week 12. This time I realized just because I felt pregnant I didn't necessarily look it. So I have waited until now. The rounding of the belly has begun. And I cannot remember what the heck I wore at this stage when carrying Danny. So I pretty much I have two outfits at this time. Time to shop I guess. :)

I have already been feeling some movement for a couple of weeks now. And I'm loving it.

And how could I resist...Danny realizes that daddy has some big shoes to fill.
